Introduction to ELFCAM OLT management software: Cloud BS-EMS

The EPON OLT is a device serving as the endpoint for the service provider in a passive optical network. In other words, the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) manages the Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON). This technology offers multiple services thanks to its point-to-multipoint passive optical transmission.

1. What is BS-EMS?

BS-EMS refers to the element management system integrated into the BS (Browser/Server) architecture. EMS makes a difference in five aspects, namely failures, configuration, accounting, performance and security. As for BS, compared to CS which is built on the local network and offers connection and data exchange through a special server between local networks, it is built on the local network and has a range of applications wider.

  • BS-EMS is a local end management system, which is mainly used for recording, management, monitoring of OLT.
  • It is capable of monitoring the operation and configuration of devices by connecting to the web client side and the BS-EMS server side.
  • The system connects to the OLT via the TCP management tunnel.

2. Features of BS-EMS

The functions of BS-EMS can be divided into three aspects: system and equipment management, data collection and analysis, maintaining data security.

1. System and equipment management

– Rest API: The system provides an API interface for external development.

– Equipment management: Not only is it capable of adding, searching and counting devices, but it can also manage equipment configuration and batch upgrade.

– User management: It supports adding users, managing roles and authority, and monitoring user operation recording.

2. Data collection and analysis

– Equipment data: BS-EMS can collect equipment performance, traffic, online and bid logs.

– Alarm data: including query, export, data delivery to mailbox, and voice alarm control.

– System data: Analysis of system resource usage and Tomcat JVM permission.

– Data backup: Backs up data automatically as scheduled or in master-slave mode.

– Analysis and graphical display

3. Data Security Maintenance

– Cloud platform: It is easy for operators to deploy with one click and they can operate and maintain anytime and anywhere.

– Backup of master and slave servers: Data recovery in the event of a problem and maintenance of services without interruption.

– Batch management: Upgrading bath devices and saving configuration files.

– System security and maintenance: Decentralized user management, logging monitoring, alarm collection and email sending.

3. Compared with CS-EMS, why choose BS-EMS?

The XRC5241 indoor CPE supports 2x2 external antennas and supports 4G network backup. The speed can reach 50Mbps uplink and 300Mbps downlink. It allows 32 devices to connect, which is really suitable for smart homes application. It also supports SIM card insertion, which is easy and convenient to use. Additionally, the CPE router is reliable as it supports VPN (PPTP, L2TP and IPSec), firewall, local and remote management, making it suitable for ATMs, banks and retail chains. stores. As shown in the image above, BS-EMS is applied to WAN rather than LAN, which gives it greater capacity. The number of OLTs that BS-EMS can handle reaches 10, which is five times more than CS-EMS. Additionally, BS-EMS supports Linux in addition to Windows. As for the protocol, BS-EMS uses TCP for connection and SNMO for encapsulation. ELFCAM also developed the BS-EMS application on mobile, which allows operators to monitor the real-time status of the OLT and resolve problems conveniently and quickly.

3. Related products: ELFCAM EPON/GPON OLT

There are several types of ELFCAM EPON/GPON OLT including 16 ports, 8 ports, 4 ports, etc. OLT routers are small, flexible and high performance. Additionally, they are easy to deploy and compatible with all ONU brands. It is ideal to apply ONU in FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and other scenarios.

XNC1842

The XNC6 CAT1842 LTE CPE has 1 WAN/LAN port and 3 LAN ports with 1 micro USB port. There are internal 4×2 MIMO antennas. With this CPE router, you can enjoy the dual-band WiFi 5 network (2.4GHz&5GHz) with a speed of up to 300Mbps.Here is the introduction of ELFCAM OLT's BS-EMS management software.
